What to expect from class & privates

Group Reformer classes & private sessions at

The Body Initiative are designed for every student at different points in their Pilates journey.

 

Find out which group level may be your best fit by reading the descriptions below, and get familiar with the various equipment used during private & semi private lessons.

Group Reformer Levels

Black  Level

This class is for the athletic student that has previous Pilates experience. Know that there will be times you may stand on the reformer, jump and or create advanced shapes during this class such as inversions. 

Blue Level

Are you are an active person that enjoys working out? This class is for you:) It is not necessary to have much Pilates experience because this class is taught through layers. The instructor will guide you through different levels for each exercise. It will give you the opportunity to stay where you are or move to the more advanced part of the movement.

 

This class does have a lot of sitting, standing and laying on the reformer. It requires the student to be able to get down and up off the apparatus without assistance. 

Silver Level

This class is geared towards the population 60 and over and or beginners to working out. Its goal is to help keep the student active in their everyday life. It is taught at a pace that allows for assistance and understanding. There will be no spinal flexion, which means it is safe for people with osteoporosis.

 

This class will not stand on top of the reformers. You will have so much fun in this class that you may not want to leave!

Equipment & apparatuses

In private and semi private lessons, there is a variety equipment and tools that will be utilized to give you a well rounded Pilates work out.

 

For Group Reformer, all classes will be using the Allegro 2 Reformer.

Taking the time to get familiar with these will help with comfort level when going to use them for the first time. Check out  these brief descriptions to help with exactly that!
